Librarians in De Kalb are excited to announce changes to the library’s schedule that will make it more convenient for library users in Kemper County. The new schedule goes into effect May 1st.
According to the Library System Director, Meredith Wickham, the changes were requested by library users. “We’ve had several requests for the library to stay open until 6:00 p.m. at least one evening per week, which is especially helpful for those of us who work all day,” Ms. Wickham said. “And some patrons also wanted longer hours on Fridays, so we found a way to make that happen.”
Beginning May 1st, the De Kalb Public Library will open at 9:00 a.m. every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday morning. The complete new schedule is as follows:
- Mondays 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Tuesdays 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Wednesdays 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Fridays 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
The Kemper-Newton Regional Library System provides the people of Kemper and Newton Counties with free access to the internet, to books and ebooks, and to many other materials that promote educational, professional, and personal development, enriching their lives and the life of their communities.
